What colour curtains and walls?

with those colors, you can pretty much go with any color scheme since brown and black are both neutrals. what you need to do is find inspiration such as a rug, picture, or other accessories that you really love and pull your colors from that. a rug is a good place to start uming that you don't have one. find one with a print that has a few colors and start from there. a rug will anchor your room and furniture. i'm a designer and that is exactly where i always start in situations like yours.
