Peculiar problem with my desk top?

i had one desk top in the year 2006 which is being connected to 5 amps plug point.i havea apc ups unit also.The desk top worked without any problem for quite some time. after that, once the smbs or smps (power unit) gone. later after some months the hard disk gone , later once the mother board gone. this is not happening when im shifting the pc to another room where in i connected the pc to a 5 amps plug point..coming to the point,i tell you that i have drawn power supply from another 5 amps point to a separate board with switch and plug socket of 5 amps., but the earth wire is drawn from a 15 amps plug point which is also having the friz from that point.. that means, earth is connected from 15 amps plug to 5 amps plug. the technician said that all this problem is due to the faulty earth wire connection. is it so.Can anybody who has knowledge about the electrical wiring and supply advise me in this regard .Right now i am using an extena of anchor brand connected to another 5 amps plug in another room. how to rectify this problem?Thank you in anticipation.once the lap top burnt which is also connected to this separate board.
