Are Muslims accepting of converts?

I am a revert and I have never yet met anything but acceptance. No one I know personally has ever been mean to me and have received nothing but respect from other Muslims. In fact they could not have been more happy when they find out. I actually had a girl in a Muslim country come up to me hug me and cry she was so happy to see a westerner in a Hijab.
